What is Industry CrossLinks?

Industry CrossLinks utilizes Veriff’s network of customers to block repeated fraudsters across different organizations by analyzing data from sessions.

Why is it useful?

Being part of Veriff’s network of customers, your organization benefits from the shared experience from the network to enhance fraud detection and proactively mitigate fraud attacks and dangerous repeat offenders from escalating and impacting your business. New users onboarding with your organization will be cross-checked against data points across the network to highlight potential risks.

Configurability

  • Once enabled for a Customer, all incoming sessions will be crosslinked with sessions from the customers; end-users and end-users of other opted-in customers that are active in the same industry.

  • If a crosslink exists with a session from another opted-in customer within the same industry, the session will be marked with a “Session crosslinked across multiple Clients'' risk label, triggering additional layers of scrutiny to ensure that any risk associated with the session is analysed with higher caution.

  • For sessions that are crosslinked with a previously declined session for another customer in the same industry, the risk label “Session crosslinked across multiple Clients'' will be visible at your end.

  • The crosslinking will only happen with non-archived data. As a default, data is non-archived and available to you in the customer back-office for your archival period. Thereafter, the data will be archived for 3 years, unless otherwise expressly agreed in the Service Agreement.

Veriff will not disclose any information about other customers that have opted in for the feature nor share which customer the initially crosslinked session originates with unless a particular customer expressly wishes to make information about its opted-in status public.

You may opt out of the feature at any time by withdrawing your authorisation. After registering your withdrawal, Veriff will cease to compare your end-users’ personal data to other opted-in customers' data and vice versa. This means that Veriff will not create any new industry-based crosslinks comparison. Please note that the risk insights that were created prior to your opt-out cannot be removed from the sessions. This information will be retained as per our Service Agreement.

Decisions

If a crosslink exists with a session from another opted-in customer within the same industry, the session will be marked with a “Session crosslinked across multiple Clients'' risk label, triggering additional layers of scrutiny to ensure that any risk associated with the session is analyzed with higher caution. The session will still be decisioned based on the validity of the information of the current session.
