What is FaceBlock?
FaceBlock helps to prevent individuals suspected of fraud from repeatedly attempting to access your business, by adding their facial biometrics to a blocklist.
FaceBlock takes the selfie images from a fraudulent session and adds the face vectors to a custom blocklist. Face images in future sessions are then checked against this blocklist and if there is a match, that session can be declined.
Why is it useful?
FaceBlock helps prevent recurring fraud by stopping individuals previously suspected of fraud from attempting to access an organization’s services again. This feature targets repeat fraudsters who try to hide their tracks by using different devices and documents.
Decisions
A match in the blocklist will result in the following decision:
127: Decline - Face match with blocklist (or Decline: 106 - Known Fraud {old reason code})
Configurability
FaceBlock is activated for all Enterprise and Self-Serve Premium plan customers.
FaceBlock works only within one customer’s user base i.e. all integrations within vendor's account.
Customers can add and remove faces from verification attempts in Veriff Station
Faces that are added to the blocklist will be stored there for 3 years.
Different customers have different caps for blocklists:
1,000 faces for Self-Serve Premium
50,000 faces for Enterprise customers with Biometric Authentication, Full-Auto or Hybrid products
100,000 faces for customers with the Fraud Intelligence Package
Opting out is possible through customer support.
